My Year of Silver Jubilee

I have been reflecting a lot lately about my life over the past 25 years of adulthood. The people I have met along the way who have helped me and those I have helped, the things I have done and experienced, jobs and careers I have ventured into, places I have visited and lived, the children I raised and those I helped to raise (who were not my own but I consider them my bonus babies) and all the transitions and transformations it took for me to transform into the person I am today. Whew, what a journey!

At age 45, last year was my year of encouragement and support from the angels — God sends us exactly who we need, when we need them, for a specific reason and season. I have been blessed this past year with many of these heavenly angels who have helped me on my journey to becoming a better version of myself. Entering age 46 this year, I believe this will be a year of divine guidance, harmony, and the restoration of balance in my life. I have been able to evolve into someone who I never imagined I would be able to become but always hoped to be. A person of confidence and charisma, enthusiasm and adventure, sophistication and strength, determination and grace, respect and success. A woman of virtue in my own right and in my own light. I no longer stand in the shadows waiting for permission to make an appearance, I instead create the scene and become the writer, producer, promotor, presenter, and star of my own show. This is not me bragging, on the contrary, this is me celebrating, how far I have been able to come and how much farther I am on track to progress. I can truly say to God be the Glory.

A young single mom with a special needs daughter and a gifted son, who was raised in what some would consider the “hood”, once on welfare and food stamps (now called ebt) without a formal college degree in any business-related field, no formal training in media, television, or radio. With only the strict determination to make things happen, an intense drive to succeed, and a passion for learning; guided by an innate ability to gravitate to those willing to teach and mentor me. I was able to build a successful media marketing business from the ground up, produce my own radio show and many more radio and podcast shows of my clients, family, and friends; write, edit, and publish books, journals, and magazines; host and lead training and technical seminars for D-suite executives, small business owners, and entrepreneurs; network and engage with local, regional, and in some cases national political leaders, ambassadors, and community advocates; and the list goes on.

If I were to listen to some of my former classmates, friends, and even some of my very own family members, there is absolutely no way I would have or should have been able to get this far, grow this much, and shine this bright. I would have been relegated to working my entire life in a dead-end job with no hope of ever becoming anything more than what I was framed to be. To those people, I say thank you! You motivated me unknowingly, encouraged me unwillingly, inspired me unintentionally, and because you did I am who I am in part because of and in spite of you.

I have learned so much in the real world, more than I would have ever learned in books, however, if I were to do one thing differently, just one, I would be more confident in my God-given abilities from the very start. I would recognize that I was never meant to be in the shadows, that I was groomed from the very beginning to be in the spotlight, and while I hate having the light shine directly on me, I cannot hide the light that is within me.

2024 will bring about powerful change, evolution, confirmation, validation, reconciliation, and rapprochement. It will be a year of spiritual growth, material gain, prosperity, leadership advancement, and international success in my business. Pursuing higher learning to advance my career, my business, and my ability to lead, train, and coach next-level C-suite executives in the international arena is just the beginning! I aspire to go even higher. As high as my Heavenly Father will enable me to go!

So pardon me as I take a moment to reflect, with the past 25 years of adulthood behind me, I take a moment to celebrate my year of Silver Jubilee! I am so thankful that I have become the person I am today and I look forward to the person I will grow to be over the next 25 years.

Let me end by saying one thing, go out and do great things! Don’t be afraid to dream big! Don’t be fearful of the unknown! Don’t listen to the negative voices of others, including your own. Don’t forgo the chance of greatness for the certainty of mundanity. Dare to Dream! Dare to Aspire! Dare to Believe! Dare To Inspire! Dare to Go Higher!
